Caramel Slice desserts

Dessert is a sweet dish, such as confections dishes or fruit, and possibly a beverage such as dessert wine or liqueur, which often concludes a meal. It depends on the tradition and overall liking of the people living in an area. In the United States it may include coffeecheesesnuts, or other savory items. In most parts of central and western Africa and China, there is no tradition of a dessert course to conclude a meal.

Desserts consist of variety of flavors, textures and appearance. The term can be applied to candies, cookies, custard, ice creams, pies, puddings, tarts and pastries. Fruits are mostly the part of desserts, as they are naturally sweet.

Australia is well known for its barbecues but still it is home of delicious sweet dishes. In Asia, desserts are mostly eaten as snacks instead of concluding dish. In Asian desserts, rice floor is commonly used along with local ingredients.

Desserts are high in fats hence constitutes high calories. Only those consists of proteins which are have milk as their prominent ingredient. Some of them are also rich in carbohydrates.

Some of the common and most consumed desserts in the world are as follows.

Lamingtons

World’s best desserts are made accidently, so this one too. A famous story about lamington is that, once Lord Lamington, who served as the Governor of Queensland, Australia, in the late 1890s had some unexpected guests. His chef dipped leftover vanilla sponge cake in chocolate and coconut before serving them to the guests. That became an amazing dessert from that time. Traditionally, Lamingtons are made from vanilla sponge covered in chocolate and coconut. They may also have a layer of jam in between the two halves. 

Baklava

Baklava is a sweet pudding, often served after meals in Middle eastern restaurants. It is made from layers of filo (a very thin dough) pastry, butter, chopped nuts and a sweet syrup with rose or orange blossom water for nice odor. Baklava is usually made in big tins, baked and then drizzled with even more syrup before cutting into smaller pieces.

Caramel Slice

A distinctively amazing crunchy biscuit is the specialty of Australian desserts. It is a layered structure, with rectangular short bread biscuit, caramel over it and good quality chocolate is used as the topping. Variation could be applied to it to make it more delicious such as, chopped nuts and almonds can be added.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Chocolate chip cookies are cherished and eaten almost everywhere in the world. But chocolate chip cookie cake is a beautiful way of presenting cookies. Applying thin layer of frosting between cookies will give a good texture. Frosting constitute of butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt.

Gulab Jamun

Fancy looking, finger licking and round deep fried balls from India is an amazing dessert. In India, gulab jamun mostly, is a part of tradition and enjoyed on special occasions but people have special liking for them around the globe. They are made from very simple ingredients including, khoya (a dairy product), flour and sugar syrup.
