History of BBQ is 1.8 millions year old, when Homo erectus (a human ancestor) begin cooking meat on fire. With the passage of time, popularity of BBQ spread on the planet like a wildfire. Variation is also found in the taste, shape, texture and flavors, depending on the region and cuisines. But it is mainly considered as American food from very pastimes. Dated back to colonial times, BBQ becomes the part of American culture.

BBQ, sometimes written as Barbecue, is also referred to a special type of gathering at which BBQ is cooked and served.

There are certain techniques, which can be used to prepare BBQs, but slow cooking is common to all. Smoking is the most famous process which involves flavoring and cooking by exposing the food to smoke from coal, mostly. Roasting is very much similar to smoking but it needs an open flame and cooks more quickly. It is possible to braise meats and vegetables in a pot on top of a grill. Gas or electric charbroil grills are the best choices for barbecue-braising, combining dry heat charbroil-grilling directly on a ribbed surface and braising in a broth-filled pot for moist heat. A slow cooker or pressure cooker is used for braising. Grilling is another from that involves dry heat mostly in the form of radiation. A very special feature of BBQ is, these dishes are most of times spicy in taste.

BBQ Ribs is another amazingly hot dish liked by people almost all over the world. Ribs of cow, buffalo, goat, lamb etc, could be barbecued, with different spices and seasonings for taste variations. However, It is often prepared over grills.

An amazing option for seafood lovers and BBQ. Trout is wrapped in double sheet of newspaper and then barbecued over low flame. After being cooked to perfection, newspaper will be removed, although it gets black but nothing to worry about it.

Tofu is barbecued after marinated in peppercorns, coriander seeds and sea salt flakes. It will a mouthwatering taste when barbecued with shallots, onion, garlic and chilies.

Whole block of feta is barbecued and gives a lavishing texture of golden outside and soft creamy inside. Also, the  dish gives a beautiful pattern of colorful grilled veggies.
